The application process
We follow a rolling admissions process.
We review applications as they are received and completed. We see the admissions process as a partnership between family and school. Admission is based on myriad factors which we consider carefully to determine if the student, family, and school will be a good fit, the overarching question is, “Can we meet the needs and interests of the student?” Our goal is to create a partnership process that is supportive and collaborative, behaving in the best interests of all.
How to apply
We encourage families to apply online as it simplifies submission and provides parents the ability to track the status of their child’s application.
To begin the Online Application process, Create an Account.
Upon account creation, you will receive an email containing a verification link. Once your email address has been verified, log in to your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.
A non-refundable fee of $150 must be submitted with each application.
After submitting the application, you will be able to track your admissions status at the school by logging in to your account. In addition, you will be able to print the completed application, monitor when the school receives any applicable supplemental forms, and, if necessary, reprint the forms.
We appreciate your interest and hope to assist you in any way we can. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us at (734) 459-1550.
The Admissions Process
The process begins when you schedule to attend one of our weekly tours & open house events.
Complete the admission questionnaire and pay the non-refundable application fee.
Sign the Student Records Release form (for students who have attended any prior preschool or school)
We will ask for copies of transcripts, previous test results, and two student recommendation forms. (Please note: we cannot act on your application until this documentation arrives; please ask that it be sent to us immediately.)
Shadow day/s scheduled
At any time throughout the process, we invite you to ask questions, schedule individual meetings, or plan a classroom observation.
Next, your child will visit one of our classes.
Toddlers & Early Childhood
We invite applicants for the Toddler (18 months – 3 years) to meet with a teachers for about an hour at a mutually respectful time. This meeting allows the teachers to see the relationship between parent and child and ask questions about routines, temperament, and expectations.
Applicants for the Early Childhood Program (ages 3-6) will typically spend at least one morning arriving at the start of school and staying through lunch with us. We may ask to administer a developmental screening during this visit.
Elementary and Middle School Applicants
Applicants will typically spend at least two full days attending class. During the shadow experience, students complete academic assessments that give us a better sense of their present level of reading fluency & comprehension, writing ability, mathematics, and cultural literacy.
After your child’s visit, the admissions committee and faculty review your application and make a determination. The review process can take up to two weeks. If the committee makes a favorable decision, you will be invited to a “Family Interview.” The family interview discussion reviews expectations, school governance, volunteer opportunities, and tuition. Once accepted, you have two weeks to sign the contract and complete the non-refundable enrollment deposit to secure your child’s place in our school.
We look forward to working with you throughout the process.
